Help Haiti

There are some things you can't plan for. But when those things happen, you have an opportunity to show your true colors. Help Haiti. For those of you who aren't certain how you can help, I've compiled a short list of organizations - with links - who can accept contributions and give aid to those in need.

Yele - Begun my Wyclef Jean, Yele is giving 100% of all donations received to relief efforts, and can accept donations online. Yele.org

Download To Donate - musicforrelief.org has compiled a wonderful set of songs for the relief effort, and you are encouraged to purchase them. Linkin Park, Peter Gabriel, Slash, Alanis Morrisette, Hoobastank, The All American Rejects, Dave Matthews, and more combine their talents.

Red Cross - The Red Cross is always present in these situations, and their actions speak for themselves.

A much longer list of organizations, including local aid groups, can be found here.

There is no reason that you can't be a part of this healing process - not when it's as simple as the click of a button.

Much love,

Michael Chance

2010 Plans, and Farewell to a Friend

The Michael Chance Band will be entering the studio in earnest in early 2010 (January or February) for a frenetic and hopefully WILDLY successful attempt at recording a 4-5 song EP. Booking will slow appreciably during this time period, but will hopefully pick back up in earnest immediately afterward. We are hoping that this is the needed step to put us legitimately into the scene here in Philadelphia, and eventually beyond.

New music will be forthcoming, so be patient with us during this undertaking!

In other news, I would like to bid farewell to a very close friend - Moses Jiggets (Ag3nt MoE, The Man From Over There, The Mighty Third, Sonic Sentai RMXRNGRZ), a man of many talents, an extraordinary DJ, emcee and b-boy, a friend of overwhelming loyalty, and a person who consistently defied expectations and overbalanced the status quo. He will be dearly missed.

To hear Agent MoE in his strong debut as a solo artist, click the video below.

Welcome Jake Julius Jones to the ranks.

MCB fans (all seven or so?) take note: Jake has taken up his post as our bass player, and we are frankly just as pleased as punch.

For more info, see his bio in the About section of the website, and feel free to Google the dude and listen to him give a stunning bass solo rendition of Duke Ellington's jazz hit "The A Train" on Myspace.

Happy Thanksgiving - and Goodbye, Greg!

Thanksgiving. The day we celebrate bounty, plenty, abundance ... surviving a winter on the kindness of natives, only to turn around and usurp their land and plague them with disease and gunfire. Who doesn't love the holidays? And if there is a trace of sarcasm in the above sentence, it is because I LOVE Thanksgiving. All the ancient grievances in the world couldn't stop me from enjoying hot turkey ...

Volta Radio has come and gone.

So let's relive the moment. For a while, we will host the full interview as a free download on our site, so here's your chance to bootleg some Michael Chance Band goodies, pirates of the world. Think of how in with the bittorrent crowd you'll be if this band hits it big and you've got radio spots that predate our EP.

So 31337.

Download the interview here, in our conveniently titled Downloads section.
