Steve Newth - Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Steve Newth began playing guitar when he was 11 years old, but didn't really get serious until he was in college. From the beginning, Steve began a fierce hunt for the perfect sounds, and it didn't take long for him to realize that simple = better.
Steve doesn't approve, but Michael Chance has taken to calling him "The Guitar Whisperer," after watching Steve build and modify his own guitars and amplifiers for so long.
Steve played for Delaware rockers Something to Shine, along with BLT, and The Michael Chance Band is his first truly serious project. How does he feel about The MCB?
"In a word: stoked. It's great to be in a band without ego. There's a big difference between self-confidence (which everyone in the band has plenty of), and ego, which there's really no room for. Everyone's humility is pretty astounding when you have the caliber of musicians that we have. The music is the result of the hard work and creativity of everyone in the band. Everyone contributes in their own way. The music speaks for itself, I think."
